The FOMO Fantastic Comics Half-Off Saturday Sale Strategy
Wait to save on that book, but risk getting sniped? Dilemma!
This Saturday, July 15, we’ll be doing the usual sidewalk sale, but this time with the first wave of our “we gotta move them or lose them” trades and hardcovers to be marked down to half off, and whatever we don’t move will be marked down even lower in the next wave.
So… Do you get in on it early, or do you wait to see if you can score even more savings the next round(s)?
Here are some considerations: at some point there won’t be any more waves and we’ll just donate the books instead of further markdowns. Also, our evil landlord has his eye on a few picks which can be scooped up at any time.
We still have some shirts left from last week, but the $5 a pop deal is over... (unless it isn’t?) You can still spend $50 and get a free shirt. You missed out on this one, though!
And Because Comic Collecting isn’t already enough like work…
Despite a century of communications innovation, the most reliable way to let us know that you need to add Henry & Glenn Break Up1 to your pull list, or to let Uel know you’ll be five minutes late so don’t close up shop just yet, is to text Uel. To try and get a handle on this and keep Uel’s phone from exploding, we’re experimenting with… Slack —yes, Slack, the mandatory water-cooler chat platform and source of juicy leaks adopted by forward-thinking businesses everywhere.
A little edit here for future readers: we’re moving slowly and cautiously on this unfamiliar new technology so please bear with us on the pace of our tentative adoption. In any case, I’m posting some exclusive Gizmo pics on there, because isn’t doggie pics what Slack is really for? Also, the algorithmic tyranny of our social networking feudal lords is really taking the fun out of posting elsewhere.
Not a real comic… yet.
