Can you hit the Berkeley Comics Con Trifecta this Saturday?
Like a pub crawl but with slightly less drinking...
1. Comic Con at Berkeley Public Library
Our pals at the Berkeley Public Library have a heavy-hitting Comic Con going on this Saturday, starting off with cool guy Andrew Farago from the Cartoon Art Museum doing a talk at 10:30AM, with headliners Gene Yang (1-2:15PM) and Hellboy & BPRD’s Mike Mignola doing a keynote speech from 4-5PM.
If you’ve ever wondered how to pronounce Mignola, here’s Uel doing his best attempt.
This Saturday is also the…
2. Berkeley Comics Show 11AM-5PM
…where you might see Uel in the early hours hunting for some more comics to liberate on the Crack the Slab.
And of course, as always, the eye of the comic book storm in Berkeley is…
3. Fantastic Comics in the Multi-Auction of Madness
Our last auction for Fables graphic novels was much more successful than our Smallville and Orphan Black (which is apparently coming back with Krysten Ritter) attempt — Thanks! The winner will be contacted shortly.
In keeping with the TV theme and the spooky season, we have a 8-book Buffy bundle and an 8-book Angel/Spike bundle for auction.
To keep it simple, we’ll start the minimum bids at $25 for each bundle, shipping and handling included for our out-of-town bidders, with bidding to close at the usual whenever-we-get-around-to-it schedule. Just reply to this email with your bid(s) (mention Buffy for the Buffy pack, Angel for the Angel pack). Easy-peasy!
SPECIAL AUCTION FOR OUR PULL-LIST SUBSCRIPTION CUSTOMERS
But of course, we can’t keep it simple for our other auctions. We also have assorted horror books with $2 minimum bids ONLY for our pull list customers to end this Saturday at 11:59PM. If you have a pull list with us, head on over to our secret secret link. And if you don’t have a pull with us, it’s always a great time to start.
And lastly, we have a whole mess of Walking Deads lying dormant but threatening to collapse our shelves at any time. What to do with them?
